Aunt Becky and I have the same topic today! Spooky.
J and I have begun watching the ink shows on TV. We prefer Miami Ink, but like seeing the differences of London Ink, although we both think poor ADHD Dan is getting a raw deal. We haven't seen LA Ink yet.
If you had asked me a few months ago if I would have enjoyed a tattoo parlor show, I, of the anti-reality show bent, would have laughed an awful lot. Now I find them compelling. Psychologically speaking, I guess I didn't fully realize the emotion associated with specific designs chosen or the timing of getting them inked. That appeals to the psychologist in me. Artistically speaking, the tattoo artist must merge the inner person with the outer vision. That appeals to the artist in me.
J draws constantly while he watches TV. It's one reason I don't mind him watching. One night during a Miami Ink marathon, he drew a tattoo for me. He envisions it going over my hip and onto my abdomen.
I appreciate the thought.
At least with his original tat, I wouldn't have this problem:

Holy Wow! We're totally on the same wavelength today.
I love the tattoo idea.
Becky, thanks. J was quite proud.
Seems the video won't play now. I'm not going to do anything, as it was working earlier.
If it doesn't work, it's about a girl who thought she was getting her (now ex) boyfriend's nickname tattooed, but it actually says "supermarket" in Chinese. Joy.
Heheh. That's why I've always thought getting Chinese or Japanese symbols with out knowning what they actuallyM mean is stupid. I took Japanese for 2 years and there are SO many symbols that are so similar that it's unreal. I assume that Chinese is the same way, since Japanese was derived from that.
Who doesn't love 'supermarket'? ;)
Btw, re your email, I don't have comment modification or anything on...could be a Blogger/Typepad thing??
Oro
I have always been around people with tattoos, I have always wanted to get them, but I do not have one. I am one of the few metal guys on the planet with zero ink.
I do have a feature I run on my blog called Ta-ttoosday....I was running it with or alternating it with the graffiti posts.
Let me take you to my favorite parlor in Deep Ellum, ha ha!...
Luv, your un-inked friend
